It has been a little while since I truly hit golden hour at the right time… you know, when the sun is super golden and just creates the most intense glowy effect? Well, I finally hit it just right, and we were on the water which was perfect!!
Stephen and Christine have grown to be very close to my heart over the last few months. July 25th was supposed to look a little different for them, but despite the big change in plans, we still got together to celebrate their date and I am so freakin’ glad we did! What was supposed to be there wedding portraits changed to be their engagement portraits, and even though they didn’t get to tie the knot, I’m glad they still will have portraits from that day to help remember the date!!
Christine is a woman who loves when things match up. So… what more of a perfect lineup could it have been than it was July 25th (Christmas in July) AND we had their session at Winter Island!! At first when we found the location for the session, it hadn’t even occurred to me that the date and location kind of had a theme going! And honestly, I would have been a little mad if the weather had prevented us from being able to have their session that day because it would have ruined the theme 😂
Spending the evening with them was perfect. There was a lot of laughs, maybe some falling, smoke bombs and again, a crazy amount of glow that I just loved!! My favorite portrait came from after the smoke bombs ended and it looked like we had smoked the entire place out, the sun created an incredible stream of light through the haze and I rushed to get them in place for a few shots!! Literally, I love the final product!!
Stephen and Christine, thank you both so much for taking the time to meet with me and still have fun on a day that was supposed to look a bit different. I’m proud of you for making the best of the hard decisions you’ve had to make, and I hope now you can look forward to FINALLY saying I Do next July!! ❤️❤️
